School Playground Surfacing Services

Surfacing

We offer a wide range of surface options for you to choose from for your playground. We also offer a fully bespoke service, meaning we can create a play area to suit your specific requirements.

Resurfacing

We can resurface your existing playground to give it a fresh new look while repairing wear and extending its lifespan.

Line Markings

Our line marking experts use preformed Thermoplastic to create recreational and competitive sports games on your playground surface. We also offer car park line marking.

Drainage

We have the expertise to construct many types of drainage systems and solutions for asphalt surfaces, including French drains, drainage channels and gully pots.

Edgings

To protect or define the boundary edges of asphalt or resin bound surfaces, we can supply and install edgings. These include concrete, steel profiles and treated timber.

Playground Surfaces We Offer

Playgrounds require hard-wearing surfaces, often with multi-purpose functions. We offer a wide range of playground surfaces made from a variety of different materials, allowing us to construct surfaces tailored to all needs.

Tarmac

A popular choice for school playgrounds is tarmac. It’s a practical surface ideal for larger areas. Installed in schools up and down the country, it’s highly durable and comes with low maintenance costs.

Asphalt

The most popular surface for play areas is medium textured asphalt. This material provides extra grip to minimise minor injuries and grazes, especially on sports courts.

Resin

Resin is a hard-wearing, versatile and anti-slip material. A popular choice for schools, it’s ideally suited for areas that are under stress from tree roots. As specialist resin surfacing contractors with as many as 40 different colour variations, we can create bespoke designs and define different areas.

Anti-slip safety surface

To ensure school playground safety, anti-slip surfaces are ideal for wheelchair and pushchair access ramps, or placing in hazardous, slippery areas.

Pervious

Pervious surfaces are highly porous and help prevent flooding from heavy rain. This is particularly useful for areas where drainage options are unavailable or lacking.

Acrylic coloured surfaces

We can apply most acrylic colours on the market to existing play areas, which not only improves the lifespan of the surface, but can also help define different areas on playgrounds.

Our Process To Surfacing Playgrounds

Arrange your site survey

With our friendly consultation or on-site visit, we can offer reliable, expert advice to ensure you have the most effective surface for your budget. Give us a call and we’ll arrange a site survey at a time to suit you.

Approve the plan

After the site survey, we’ll put together plan for the project. We’ll make sure you’re 100% confident with the plan and schedule before going ahead.

Surfacing work begins

Once everything has been approved, we’ll get the work scheduled in to begin soon. Usually, a playground can be prepared in a day and resurfaced in a day or two.

Drainage

We take levels to ensure that there are adequate built in falls for drainage. If there are no drainage systems, we can install them.

Finishing touches

Finally, we will apply any agreed line markings and cushioned surfaces for games and competitive sports activities.
