School Playground Surface Materials
School playgrounds require hard-wearing surfaces, often with multi-purpose functions. We offer a wide range of ground surface materials to suit your specific requirements:
Anti slip surface
Suitable for hazardous slippery areas and wheelchair access ramps.
Pervious surfaces help improve areas that suffer from flooding and where drainage options are unavailable or lacking.
Fine asphalt is typically used on playgrounds and helps minimise grazes and minor injuries.
Resin is a hard-wearing, versatile and anti-slip material that is a popular choice for schools. Its hardiness is ideally suited for areas that suffer from considerable stress, such as from tree roots. We can offer as many as 40 different colour variations and create bespoke designs to build unique playing environments and define different areas.
Acrylic coloured surfaces
We can apply most colours on the market to existing play areas which not only improves the lifespan of the surface, but can also help define different areas on playgrounds.
Used to improve the lifespan of older playground surfaces, slurry sealant also fills small damaged areas of asphalt to re-vitalise the surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you work outside school hours?
Yes! We are available 24/7 – including bank holidays. You can depend on us to complete work at a time to suit you.
Are staff DBS checked?
Yes, any and all staff working within the school property is fully DBS checked.
What are French drains?
French drains are built as trenches which are filled with gravel or rock and can be fitted with an irrigation or perforated pipe to redirect surface water away from an area.
Our French drains are typically 150mm in width x 400-500mm in depth. We line the inside of the trench with a membrane, fill with clean gravel, cover with a second membrane to prevent soil contamination, and finally fill the trench with top soil.
What are gully pots?
Often made from robust concrete, gully pots are designed to stop debris carried by road water from entering a drainage network. We can offer gully pots and iron grating in a range of dimensions.
